Winter 2012

Six Awesome Indoor Sports

Our Winter 2012 season will be a 9-week season of some great indoor sports: kickball, dodgeball, volleyball and beer-in-hand bar sports! Our Beer-in-hand Bar Sports will be cornhole, giant Jenga and giant Connect 4, and will be bundled together, so you'll play all three a few times across the season.

The season will be starting the first week of January and run through mid-March. There will be three free seasonal parties, free movie screenings (as available) and other fun social events.

Registration for our Winter season is now open. The price is $60 to join ($45-50 for beer-in-hand bar sports)! Sign up now!

Captain a Fall Team

Interested in starting a team? Captains play for FREE (up to 2 captains per team - 1 captain for beer-in-hand bar sports) in NAKID. Email us at nakid2009@gmail.com to start a team or for more info.

Below are the 10 responsibilities of a captain. If you are unable or unwilling to fulfill these responsibilities, please do not start a team. If you do start a team, and don't fulfill these responsibilities, you may be removed as captain and removed from the league.

Please feel free to email/talk to us, other captains, or your teammates for ideas or help. There are plenty of great, friendly people in NAKID, many of whom are more than willing to lend a hand.

  1. Come out to your games every week (missing one here and there is okay).
  2. Manage and distribute shirts to your team.
  3. Manage all aspects of your game. This includes at a minimum: building a lineup (kicking order) for your team (in the case of kickball), keeping track of your score, ensuring you're fielding the proper number of players and they know where to go on the field, instructing them on how to play.
  4. Verifying that the people playing on your team are actually listed on your team (on the NAKID website).
  5. Sending out (at least) bi-weekly emails to your team(s) alerting them of team-only activities and NAKID-wide events. Encourage all teammates to sign up AND RSVP for NAKID events on our Meetup page.
  6. Sending out a weekly evite/invite to your team to each game.
  7. Rallying your team at the bar (in part to challenge other teams to flip cup).
  8. Organize 2-3 team happy hours in the season.
  9. Read, understand, and follow the rules for each sport for which you are a captain.
  10. Engage ALL of your teammates in the game and post-game activities. Do not exclude anyone.

If you a returning player/captain, and are starting a Fall team, we will place you on that team. You will NOT need to register or pay for that team (although you will have to do so for other teams that you aren't captaining). If you are brand new to NAKID, you will need to register and pay on our website. Once your team reaches 20 players (or 15 players for dodgeball / volleyball / flag football), email us back and we'll refund your money.
