What does NAKID stand for?
NAKID stands for "No, Adult Kickball Isn't Dumb".

How do I play kickball?
It's similar to baseball and softball -- there is a home plate, three bases (1st, 2nd, and 3rd), a pitcher, catcher, basemen, and outfielders. The difference is that we play with a big rubber blue ball and you kick it!

How do I play dodgeball?
It's just like how you remember it in grade school. Stay tuned for a link to the rules, very soon!

Why should I join NAKID?
Because it is the best choice for Thursday kickball in Denver. We have a great group of people who don't take the game too seriously, and we have great social events to get you out and about in Denver. Sometimes we even have FREE jello shots at our parties! Plus we are the best run club (you get the most for your money!) and we offer a discount to returning players and groups of 15 or more.

What's a game day like?
Pretty fun! You show up at the fields/facility for your games, you play with your new best friends (your teammates), then after your game, you head on over to the nearby sponsor bar for food, drinks, and flip cup!

How can I play for free?
All captains within NAKID play for free (once a team hits 15 players). Each team is permitted up to two captains. We typically suggest having a group of friends coming with you to start a team, but that's certainly not required.

NAKID reserves the right to put independent players on your team.

How much does it cost to join?
The early bird price will be $30 and registration opens on Thursday, January 26th. On February 1st, the price goes to $40.

If you have a company team you want to join, or want to bring 15+ players, please email info@playnakid.com to talk about bulk player prices. If you manage a division or chapter within a competing league and are unhappy, email info@playnakid.com about moving to NAKID.

What if I don't know anyone else in the league? Can I still play?
Of course! Even if you don't know what team to join, you can join "Any Team That Needs Me". We'll place you on a friendly team and you'll make some new friends on day one!

How long is the season?
Seasons will be about 7 weeks long, plus playoffs.

How do rainouts/game cancellations work?
If we have to call games because of rain, come on out to the sponsor bar anyway, because we will be buying a limited amount of beer for players. We don't make up rain days, which is why we buy you some free beer when rainouts happen.

I have a bunch of friends that want to play - how can we get on the same team?
When you go through the registration process, you can see how many openings there are on each team. All teams are welcoming to new players, so feel free to coordinate amongst yourselves on which team to join (but hurry before spots fill up!). If you have enough friends, you should consider starting your own team. We'll help you fill it up!

What if I don't like my team?
That's no problem. Just send us an email at info@playnakid.com and we'll slide you over to a different team.

Where are the bars and fields?
We'll be playing kickball on Thursdays at City of Cuernavaca Park - just north of LoDo. Our sponsor bar is TBD, but will be within walking distance of our fields. Our Sunday bar sports will be at the same sponsor bar in LoDo.

Can I start my own team?
Absolutely! Just send us an email at info@playnakid.com and include your team name, preferred shirt color (give us a few options, please), and day/time of choice and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

I may have to miss several games - can I still join?
Most people miss a game or two. That's not a problem at all.

How do I join?
Once registration opens, just click the Register Now link at the top right of every page, fill out your info, choose a team, and pay and you are in!

What is the registration fee for?
Equipment, t-shirts, parties, prizes, trips, recruiting, and the tons of other NAKID social events that we will be hosting throughout the season and year. We have more social events than any other league. Trust us, you get your money's worth!

What's a "chapter"?
A chapter is a specific day, time, and location in which teams will play. For instance, if you join on "Thursday", you'll play once a week (except holidays) on Thursday at 6:30pm (for instance) at our fields. Each chapter can have up to 7 teams, so there's plenty of opportunities to make new friends.

What social events does NAKID typically have in a season?
It can depend on the season, but we typically have a couple of free parties, field trips, free movie screenings, and more.

Can I drink alcohol during kickball games?
Definitely not. It's prohibited by the law and if you're caught, you may be fined, arrested, and/or banned from the league (without refund). Plus, drinking makes the game less safe. If you drink alcohol during games, you may be removed from the league.

Who is our sponsor bar?
Currently TBD, but we'll have a sponsor bar in LoDo.

What are the bar specials?
We're working on the price right now, but we'll have cans/bottles/pitchers of Bud Light on special, as well as other happy hour specials. You can get these special prices only if you are wearing your NAKID shirt.

What skills do I need to play kickball or bar sports?
None! All levels of skill are welcome. Playing kickball and bar sports with NAKID is a fun way to compete with people in sports that are truly a level playing field and then meet a bunch of new people (both on the field and at the bar, afterwards).

How many players are on a team?
Up to 35 players are on a kickball team and 4-8 players on a bar sports team.

Who refs the games?
Each week, we assign a team to ref games. It's extremely important that all players are familiar with the rules, especially the head refs. If you're interested in being a part of our head ref program, please contact us. Bar Sports are self-reffed.
