Bowling in DC

Bowling is the newest edition to our family of sports! We'll be playing at Lucky Strike in Chinatown on Sundays.

If you've never bowled before, it's simple: you wear some funny shoes and you roll a 9-inch weighted ball down a lane, in an attempt to knock down all 10 pins at the end of the lane. You get up to 2 chances to knock down all of the pins and points are earned, depending on how many pins you knock down. Extra points are earned if you knock down all 10 pins!

Each team must have a minimum of 6 players and a maximum of 8 players. Bowling games are self-refereed, although we will always have someone on site to set up the games and answer any rules questions you may have. The top three individual scores on the team for that day will get counted towards the overall team score each week.

With our 1.5 hour time slot, you'll play at least one game, but remember not to take too long - you only have 1.5 hours to complete at least one game. The price to join includes shoe and lane rental for your team for up to 1.5 hours. We have to stick to a strict schedule, though, so please try to arrive early!

You must wear proper bowling shoes during game play and may only use the house bowling balls.

We're working on the final version of our rules and we'll post them here when they're complete.

Cornhole in DC

Cornhole is a part of our Bar Sports program, and we'll be playing at select bars in downtown DC, Arlington and Bethesda.

Cornhole is a standard tailgating game. Each team of two players will have 4 bags, typically filled with corn or some other soft material. The game also involves two 4x2 ft boards with a 6 inch hole towards one end of the board.

Each player must stand with one board and an opposing team player, while the other two players are with the other board, some distance away. Each player takes turns tossing, underhanded, each cornhole bag towards the opposing board. The objective is to have each bag land (and stay on) the board (for one point) or slide through the hole (for three points).

Points may cancel eachother out, so the only points that count are how many more points you get versus your opponent. The team that reaches 21 or more points wins the game. Games are typically best of five.

Only one hand may be used during game play and the other hand must have a drink in it, such as beer, water or some other drink.

Each team must have a minimum of 4 players and a maximum of 8 players. Cornhole games are self-refereed, although we will always have someone on site to set up the games and answer any rules questions you may have.

Please see our cornhole rules for a complete list of the rules.

Giant Jenga

Jenga is a kids game invented and owned by Hasbro and is a part of our Bar Sports program, which we'll be playing at select bars in downtown DC, Arlington and Bethesda.

You'll have 54 elongated blocks of wood or fiberboard, and place them, criss-crossed, in sets of three, building a tower. Each team of three players will take turns pulling a block out of someplace in the middle and placing it on the top of the tower. The objective is to do so without knocking over the tower.

Only one hand may be used during game play and the other hand must have a drink in it, such as beer, water or some other drink. You must choose a block that is further down the tower from 3 complete rows from the top. Games are typically best of three.

Each team must have a minimum of 4 players and a maximum of 8 players. Cornhole games are self-refereed, although we will always have someone on site to set up the games and answer any rules questions you may have.

Please see our giant jenga rules for a complete list of the rules.

Giant Connect 4

Connect 4 is another kids game invented by Hasbro and is a part of our Bar Sports program. It is currently on hold as an official game, but we will likely have a set out at our Bar Sports sponsor bars for casual play.

Each team of two players has 21 colored checkers and is facing a 4x4 ft game board with 7 columns and 6 rows. You will take turns between teams, in placing your checkers in one of the 7 columns. The objective is to have 4 of our checkers in a row- either horizontally, vertically or diagonally.

Each team must have a minimum of 4 players and a maximum of 8 players. Cornhole games are self-refereed, although we will always have someone on site to set up the games and answer any rules questions you may have.

Only one hand may be used during game play and the other hand must have a drink in it, such as beer, water or some other drink.

Please see our giant connect 4 rules for a complete list of the rules.

Indoor Kickball in DC

Indoor kickball is our biggest indoor sport! It is similar to normal kickball- in that there's a blue rubber ball that you kick from home plate and there are bases you must run to, but there are some significant differences.

There are only two bases instead of three, so they form more of a triangle pattern than your typical kickball/softball/baseball diamond. Our bases are four times the size of ourdoor bases because we allow up to two players on a base at a time. Players may daisy-chain (hold hands to lead off) from a base, so long as one of the players is still touching the base.

The kickball may be played off the walls or ceiling. People in the field will need to keep in mind the ricochet from the wall and ceilings when making a play for the ball.

If you're a running and someone throws the ball at you to tag you out, you may catch the ball, quickly bunt it away, and keep running. You're not out!

For one inning during a game, teams will use a smaller 8 inch ball. Any runs scored during that inning will count as two runs instead of one.

We allow up to 7 on a field at a time: 3 men, 3 women and 1 of either sex. We've got 2 strikes, 2 balls and 2 fouls, and fouls count as strikes.

You'll play one game per week, except when your team has to referee games. Teams or players that help referee get some beer at the bar after games, courtesy of NAKID, as a thank you for helping.

Each kickball team must have a minimum of 15 players and a maximum of 25 players per team. Each team, with the exception of company or alumni teams (assuming you get to 15 players), must be willing to take on some free agent players.

Please see our indoor kickball rules for a complete list of the rules.

Drinking alcohol during games is strictly prohibited. Anyone caught drinking may be removed from the league without refund.

Kickball in DC

Kickball in the Washington, DC area is our biggest sport and our players love it! We normally play on the National Mall at 9th Street on Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Our kickball leagues are so popular, we even started up indoor kickball in the Winter months to keep the party going for our members.

Adult kickball is played similarly to baseball and softball, except instead of a bat and ball, we use a 10" rubber ball. The idea is simple: when it's your turn to kick, Kick the ball and run to first base! Your team will cheer you on, but you better hurry, since the opposing team will be trying to tag you out!

We allow up to 11 players on a field at a time (excluding base runners): 5 men, 5 women and 1 of either sex. We've got 3 strikes, 4 balls and 4 fouls, and fouls count as strikes.

You'll play one game per week, except when your team is assigned to referee games. Teams or players that do help referee games get some beer at the bar after games, courtesy of NAKID, as a thank you for helping.

Each kickball team must have a minimum of 20 players and a maximum of 35 players per team. That doesn't mean that all should or will show up every week (we all have other things in life). Each team, with the exception of company or alumni teams (assuming you get to 20 players), must be willing to take on some free agent players.

Please see our kickball rules for a complete list of the rules.

Please note that drinking alcohol during games on the National Mall is illegal. Anyone caught drinking may be removed from the league without refund.
